Father Charles Kuzmeski

location Pastor

One of the many accomplishments of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish is its connection to the World Wide Web. Though I am no computer guru, I appreciate the parish’s advancement in modern technology. I am happy to have become the new pastor of this parish and am happy and ready to serve the spiritual, pastoral, and administrative needs of you, its wonderful people. I count on your prayers and support that I may faithfully respond to the task confided to me.

You perhaps wonder who I am! I am a native of Hadley, MA, the son of Victoria Kuzmeski-Banas and Charles Kuzmeski. My Dad died in a car accident when I was very young. Later, my mother remarried to Edward Banas. I was very well provided for and loved by a step-father, who, with my mother, saw to every aspect of my religious, human, and academic growth. I am also blessed with a wonderful and caring sister, Terry Banas, who still lives in Hadley and Patricia, an angel in heaven, who died as a child. I cherish my precious aunts and uncle.

She’s been a church organist for the last 25 years serving in 7 Protestant denominations and 5 Catholic churches in upstate NY, Virginia, and MA. She has also taught piano and organ lessons for the past 15 years. Terri was born in Lowell, MA. She received the B.A. from Rivier College in N.H. and an M.A. from the UMass in Lowell. Since retiring, she has devoted most of her time to learning and playing music. Terri believes that music is a universal language and everyone can understand the message whether it’s joyful, peaceful, sorrowful and/or prayerful just by listening. Thus, her main goal as organist at IHM is to bring God’s people to praise Him through her music.

Michael Sampson

location Organist

Michael has really enjoyed taking part in music at Immaculate Heart of Mary at the 4:00 pm and 8:00 am mass this last several years. He is grateful for the sense of hospitality, camaraderie, humor, and liturgy here, and for the underlying ecumenical spirit among Granby congregations (he plays across the street at UCC too). During the week Michael is a music therapist with Providence Hospital and BHN/Carson Center. He’s moved by the way music makes a holding space for us to connect with our depths, with each other, and with God.
